About Me
George Nicholas Hawk (he/him/his) is a Computer Science and Mathematics double major, East Asian Studies minor. He also has a deep interest in music as many Obies do and would have minored in Musical Studies had that been an option. While George spent most of his time coding and playing ultimate frisbee, he also enjoyed singing in the Oberlin College Choir and 'Round Midnight, playing basketball with friends, and making paper snowflakes. Some of his favorite classes during his time at Oberlin were Artificial Intelligence with Adam Eck, Chinese Calligraphy with Kai Li, Bowling with David Wilson, and Mathematical Modeling with Bob Bosch. He also loved attending Jazz Forum, Oberlin Orchestra concerts, and seeing as many of the very talented musicians that come to Oberlin as he could. He hopes that after college he can find a programming job and maybe make math art and teach ultimate to kids on the side.
Study Abroad
I did archaeology in Ireland over winter term my second year and studied music in London over winter term my third year.
Favorite Place
Williams Field House. I've made some of the best memories at Oberlin playing frisbee in there at 1am on a weeknight.
Favorite Class
Mathematical Modeling. It combines the best parts of math with coding for the purpose of making amazing visual arts. Not only that, but it's also taught by the amazing professor and math artist, Bob Bosch.
