About Me

I am a theatre major with a Russian minor from Ashland Oregon. As part of the theatre major I am an acting emphasis and have had the opportunity to perform in many productions on campus, including some mainstage productions (Angels in America, Urinetown). I performed in two seasons of the Oberlin Summer Theatre Festival, which was a great opportunity for young actors to work professionally. I studied theatre abroad in Moscow, which was amazing. For my honors capstone I directed "A Warsaw Melody", a play that I saw while studying abroad. My love of Russian language and culture inspired me to continue studying Russian when I returned to campus. While at Oberlin I was a member of the Cross Country team and a captain of the Track and Field team. On the track team I competed in the combined events, I have the school record in the indoor pentathlon and earned Academic All-American in the pentathlon as well. Being part of that team was the best part of my Oberlin experience, they are my family and I am very proud of them.

Favorite Place

The track, that's where I am the happiest. Also, there is a bench under a tree by Mudd, between Mudd and dascomb. It is a very peaceful spot and I have done a good deal of reading there.

Favorite Class

Acting Shakespeare. I loved the material we worked on and learned a lot about technique. I felt like it challenged me and I grew in the process.

Cross Country
Track & Field

Notable Quote

"That's what alchemists do. They show that, when we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too." -Paulo Coelho (The Alchemist)

Memorable Oberlin Moment

The last intrasquad meet with the track team. We celebrated our last day on campus together by putting on a meet, some real events and some just for fun like the 8 by 100m relay with a high jump bar for a baton. It was great to get to do what I love one more time with the people that I love.
