About Me

I am a curious, corny, outgoing Mainer who is passionate about building relationships. I love cats, dogs, smoothies, low-brow reality TV, working out, cooking, taking pictures of the food I cook, playing and singing songs, drawing, exploring, and most of all, hanging out with the people I love. While at Oberlin, I studied Psychology and Hispanic Studies. My Oberlin education provided me with extensive research experience, eyeopening discussions, and amazing opportunities for language immersion in the classroom. But more than anything, I will cherish and miss the friends I made during those four years. Beyond having incredible friendships with faculty, staff, and peers, I feel that I have a family at Oberlin. I still cannot believe that I was not able to spend my last few months at Oberlin with these close friends whom I deeply love. I dont think that any class discussion or reading can really compare to the learning that happened in our conversations, arguments, and play <3. People are so fascinating and incredible. My experience at Oberlin gave me the chance to learn, but above all, to love. And it is through love that learning becomes intrinsic, gripping, and alive.

Favorite Class

Ana Mar Diaz Burgos Spanish seminar, Saints, Sinners, and Other Cursed Women. I took this course right after studying abroad in Ecuador and feel that my language development continued to accelerate. Beyond creating a rigorous, language immersive classroom environment, Ana Mar also challenged me to think deeply about history, gender, religion, and pedagogy. She simultaneously pushed every student to their limits while also being one of the kindest, most supportive teachers I have ever had.
