I worked in Amanda Schmidts lab for a few years, and my senior project was focused on landsliding in Puerto Rico post Hurricane Maria. I was an Oberlin College Research Fellow, and was able to conduct similar research at a lab at University of Vermont. I also spent a lot of time learning about education through my work with America Reads as a tutor of first through fifth graders. I loved this experience because children are just so funny and adorable, and I was able to connect with the Oberlin community. I was also on the Varsity Swimming and Diving team for two years and spent a lot of time learning about dedication and hard work in the pool. While at Oberlin, I would say I learned a lot about my own interests, hobbies, and world views. I am so grateful for the experience. Favorite Class Intro to peer helping was definitely a favorite of mine, I loved learning about how to become a better communicator Favorite Place I absolutely love Tappan! It's so beautiful when it's covered in snow, when the leaves are changing, or when it's full of flowers.
