About Me
Hi, my name is Kathryn (Kat). I am an English and Creative writing double major. Why does the yearbook have to be PG? This is college, no one is PG– even the professors cursed. I was apart of Girls in Motion, Oberlin Student Theatre Association as the secretary, and Neurotic Fiction most recently. I mean, come one we are in hell right now, let us curse. Cursing is healing. I worked the Azariah's counter this past semester, making okay chatter and okay coffee drinks. I mean, this is all me– I feel so bitter that I would complain about anything. But this definitely brings back bad high school memories, where I'm not really popular or social enough to end up in the yearbook photos. In Fall 2017, I was apart of OSTA's production of Jacob Britton's The Odds, where I played boy-crazy best friend Veronica who I may or may not have interpreted as clinically insane. And why are you asking for a senior photo, you know I don't have a senior photo? I wasn't one of those folks spending their last Oberlin days taking pictures in front of the North-Quad tree, I was too busy being an unphotogenic mess. But thank you for this anyway--hope everyone is doing okay and staying safe!
Study Abroad
Bath, England in spring 2019.
Favorite Place
The Mudd womb chairs. If you didn't put your feet down on the carpet, they stop spinning. The whole second-floor would get a 360-view of my conked-out drooling face. Good times.
Favorite Class
Teaching Imaginative Fiction. I loved teaching poetry to sixth graders, a grade that for me I especially struggled in and would have loved to have a program like this. Professor Lynn Powell is amazing, and if I could do my Oberlin education over, I would take this class twice.
Clubs & Organizations

Girls in Motion
Oberlin Student Theater Association

Notable Quote
"Staying in every night and watching sitcom reruns, it's like every night is Prom Night." –Conan O'Brien, Twitter, April 5th, 2020.
Memorable Oberlin Moment
My first snowfall freshman year in Barrows. Oregon doesn't get that much snow so I was shocked to see how much had suddenly fallen in the middle of the night. And I was in a freshman dorm, so it felt like Christmas morning in the lobby. Everyone ran outside at midnight. I had a snowball fight with friends at 1am and made snow angels underneath the stars. I watched as some people made a snow penis (Is that PG? Snowman Johnson? Snow Schlong? Just cut the sentence if it doesn't work). It was great.
Graduation Date
05/25/2020
Future Plans
Crap. I don't know. Immediate plans, who has those? I don't know how I'm going to have a plan when I can't leave my house, but if someone out there does have a plan then major kudos. I still want to be a Production Assistant in LA, but God help me with that.
