About Me
Double-degree in East Asian Studies and Cello Performance, I spent lots of time thinking about Buddhist temples, studying Japanese, practicing, and playing music with friends. I was a part of Pyle and Keep coops and worked in the con library, worked as a student board rep for EAS and as a facilitator for Barefoot dialogue. The constant tide of studies, socializing, and practice were broken up by doses of thoughtful moments in the arb or along the bike path or just sitting at the fountain on the south side of Finney Chapel or under the lilacs in front of Hall Auditorium in the springtime. The immense buzz of campus was contrasted always by this humble calm of living in a small town in Ohio.
Study Abroad
I studied in Japan over the summer of 2018 through a two month language intensive in Ishikawa followed by a month-long research trip on temples throughout Japan.

Favorite Place
Azzies with a new book or magazine, overhearing idle chatter and smiling at the occasional person who I recognized pass by.
Favorite Class
Astronomy! Because it made me dream beyond Oberlin yet with so much Obie excitement. Ill remember fondly those treks up to the top of Peters huffing and puffing in the middle of the day to look at the night sky in the observatory.

Notable Quote
This is so much pressure. Life continues on after we graduate and we will still be picking up quotes, so just a reminder to keep listening to everyone and absorbing their words because all earnest people will give you something you can quote.
Memorable Oberlin Moment
My first meal at Pyle (first time in OSCA) I remember being so absolutely amazed by the beautiful organism worked to create the meal in front of me. I can't believe that coop cooking has become so normalized for me. Now on a rotating cooking schedule with my housemates and getting a job just outta college in pandemic times thanks to my cooking in the coops. What a wonderful thing coops are looking back.
Graduation Date
12/21/2019
Future Plans
Grad school for cello? Or just...anything else given the circumstances.
