About Me

My time at Oberlin was largely shaped by playing on our women & trans ultimate frisbee team and getting the honor of captaining those beautiful people in 2019-2020. Additionally, I really loved and learned a lot from my work volunteering at Oberlin Community Services throughout my first three years, being a part of Oberlin Climate Education, Advocacy, and Lobbying (OCEAL), and Oberlin Student Cooperative Association (OSCA). To me, Oberlin is all about the people; and I am so grateful to all of the ones who have inspired me, taught me, challenged me, affirmed me, played with me, cooked with me, sang with me, cried with me, laughed with me, laughed at me, loved me and were loved by me.

Study Abroad

I went on the Oberlin in London program in Spring 2018 (with TS McMillin and Janet Fiskio!).

Favorite Place

Pyle. Eating at Pyle for most of my time at Oberlin gave me confidence in the kitchen and brought some of the most important people in the world to me into my life. I'm not sure I'll get used to cooking for less than 100 people anytime soon, but I am still so so grateful for every meal made, crew finished, and middle-of-the-night tasty thing consumed.

Favorite Class

Either Meaning and Being in Nature with TS McMillin (English) or Great Lakes Limnology with the amazing Rachel Eveleth (Geology). I found Meaning and Being to be an incredibly thought provoking class, and loved the selection of books we read. I never in a million years would have thought Moby Dick could have been one of my favorite novels but reading it with that class was very impactful for me. Taking Great Lakes Limnology was one of the most rewarding experiences I had in college -- Rachel is an amazing professor and, by the end of the course, I felt a lot more confident in my own abilities when it came to tackling scientific topics.
