About Me

I am a Biology major who loves learning about how cells function and what they can do to adapt to their environment when it changes. I also love snow and days that are below 60 but sunny too. I vaguely know how to knit and longboard, but am very good at playing super smash bros (Lucario and Charizard only). I believe the friendships I have made here will extend years past college and am grateful to have met so many wonderful people. Disregarding college stereotypes, I do not make ramen at college (it is not a main staple), but I do make rice. I started my Biology major "late", but cant imagine having changed classes as the teachers I had were inspiring, incredible, and passionate about learning. Oberlin is a place, where I have learned to grow confident in who I am and what I can do. It is a place where I will hold many fond memories and I am beyond grateful and happy that I chose Oberlin.

Favorite Place

Love Lounge! Perched above the science atrium, it is truly great as it still maintains the wonderful natural lighting from the atrium windows, but also has a quieter atmosphere conducive for work. Additionally, if you ever need a break from work, a quick trip to decafe with friends for snacks or conversation with peers is possible as many students pass through.

Favorite Class

Too many to choose from! I especially loved all my upper-level biology courses as they challenged me to think more holistically. Favorite non-biology course though was definitely CS 151 with Bob Geitz. At the start of this class, coding was something I perceived myself to not be great at, but I took the class because I wanted to improve my coding skills. I am very proud to say that by the end of this class, I became a better coder and learned I had the skills all along, but only needed a bit more time to develop them. This class was my favorite for two reasons. First this class was a reminder to me that we should not give up on things that seem hard and that just because you dont understand something now doesnt mean you wont understand it later. The second reason I loved this class was because of the teacher. Without professor Geitzs constant support and encouragement, I would not have realized my full potential in coding and would have forgotten how much fun it is.
