About Me

A San Francisco native, Libra sun & Libra rising, an avid supporter of women of color sci-fi authors, and total homebody somehow found herself enrolling at Oberlin College fall 2016. Even with all the stumbling blocks, these past four years have thrown at me, I'd still choose Oberlin. Being at Oberlin contributed so much to my growth as an ally, an activist, and an individual. Ill be graduating with an individual major in Global Health Studies, with an unplanned but completely loved minor in Environmental Studies. Ill miss classes in the AJLC and third floor King (not the hike up those stairs though). Ill miss running into friends at DeCafe or shouting "Hey!!!" / "You look good!!!" across Wilder Bowl. Ill miss the community I found here that is made up of some of my most favorite people and friendships. We danced our a$$es off every time we went to the Sco, kept each other accountable, checked in, and lifted each other up when one of us felt low. My Oberlin experience has been defined so deeply by the people and connections Ive made on this campus, both the long-lasting and fleeting ones. So to my people, thank you!

Favorite Place

A House, but more specifically the A-House residents/Black student table during Sunday dinners because tea was always spilled, impromptu karaoke sessions, and the people <3

Favorite Class

Damn, this is tough. I've had so many favorite classes! But if I had to pick just one, it would be International Security with Professor Chua. First, what an iconic professor I never left class without my mind having been blown by something she said. Second, I learned so much about the military-industrial complex, the rhetoric used to justify war, and how the state uses and stokes fear of "next time" to warrant more surveillance.

Clubs & Organizations

Black Scientists Guild

Notable Quote

"All that you touch, You Change. All that you Change, Changes You. The only lasting truth is Change." - Octavia Butler, Parable of the Sower (1993)

Memorable Oberlin Moment

Most memorable Oberlin moment has to be singing happy birthday to Nae in Dascomb in our second year and the fact that people joined in. Also, her complete and utter embarrassment, priceless! But honestly speaking, any time spent in Dascomb or with friends was memorable. We definitely kept things interesting.

Graduation Date

05/25/2020

Future Plans

Ideal case scenario I find a job in the public health sector, but if not, then Trader Joe's is looking mighty good until August.
