About Me

I came to Oberlin Conservatory to study violin with Gregory Fulkerson. In true Fulkerson fashion, he told me one month after I committed that he would be retiring after my first year. Thankfully, the Conservatory hired Sibbi Bernhardsson to replace him, and Sibbi has quickly turned into a fixture in the con. I had a great time in all my Computer Science classes in the College along the way, which were a perfect distraction from round-the-clock practicing. Sadly five years of double-degree was just a bit too much for me, even though I would be able to graduate in person that way! One of Oberlins greatest strengths is its all-undergraduate setup, which gave us great opportunities that would have been given to MM students at a different institution. We could aspire to leadership positions in orchestra, chamber music Honors Recital performances, guest master classes, and so much more. The student community at the Conservatory was incredibly supportive and I will miss it dearly. I had a stellar time at Oberlin and I am excited for the future!

Favorite Place

Finney Chapel. So many great performances were seen and played there.

Favorite Class

Andrew Pau's French Music Theory class. Basically just "Why Music Theory Is Wrong" with a side of Debussy.

Notable Quote

"I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we passed the audition." John Lennon, London, 1969

Memorable Oberlin Moment

Playing concertmaster on Don Juan.

Graduation Date

05/25/2020

Future Plans

I am beginning my MM in violin at Juilliard whenever Cuomo decides I can, at least.
