About Me
I was a Double Degree Student, and a majority of my time at Oberlin was spent writing code for my computer science classes, or practicing saxophone trying desperately to keep up with the musicians who were better than me. Improv classes, Private Lessons, Masterclasses, Arranging and Theory classes, Ensemble Coachings, Forums all improved me as a musician. I enjoyed going to many visiting artist and student concerts, these concerts were not only enjoyable but inspirational. Whether I was in Philips Gym, Firelands, Splash Zone, or a random gym in Wellington, my favorite outlet was playing pickup basketball with students, faculty, and people who lived in Oberlin. I even organized the entire 2017 Intramural season (still waiting on my paycheck). I will miss playing random jazz gigs throughout Ohio, Cleveland Cavalier basketball games, late nights in Kohl practicing and jamming with musicians, and drinking at the Feve. Shout out Newman Group for the Sunday night dinners.
Study Abroad
Sydney Australia in Spring of 2018
Favorite Place
This is an odd one but I started growing fond of the Birenbaum towards the end of my time at Oberlin. I had both of my recitals there, Griffin Woodard started organizing jam sessions there my last semester, and it's a great bar.
Favorite Class
Private Lessons with saxophonist Gary Bartz. I learned something new every time we met.
