And yes, I did live up to a few stereotypes. I'm definitely not the quietest person, I'm pretty emotional and I like to talk. A lot. Despite my major pushing me to exhaustion both physically and emotionally, forcing me to pull all nighters, and often eliciting crying in practice rooms out of frustration, my four years at Oberlin have been the best of my life so far. Oberlin is where I finally came out of my shell. I found teachers who eventually became friends and who supported me through challenges. The friendships I made are ones I intend to keep for a long time and the same goes for the memories I made with them. Swimming in the Arb at 2:00 am is not something I will easily forget. Neither is the time we ate expired cookie dough while watching Pride and Prejudice. Oberlin has been an outlet for me to be myself and I will always be grateful for the time I've had here. Favorite Class Favorite class has to be Romantic Music History with Prof. O'Leary because it's my favorite musical era and I also got to take it with a bunch of my friends. Favorite Place Definitely the Conservatory Lounge. It's a great hangout space with friends and I always loved seeing people I knew when walking through the lounge. Memorable Oberlin Moment Junior year my friends and I reserved a conservatory classroom late at night to marathon barbie movies. We brought pillows, blankets, and had a snack table ready to go. We were all singing along and having a great time. Definitely recommend. Future Plans I will be attending the University of Michigan in the fall for my masters in vocal performance.
