My name is Maura. I am a chemistry major from outside of Philadelphia, PA. A lot of my time at Oberlin has been spent in Mudd or the Chemistry Mac Lab, but outside of school I really enjoy being active whether its going to volleyball practice or playing Spikeball in North Quad. A lot of my most memorable times at Oberlin have been spent with my roommates or my teammates. Most notably, I have enjoyed all of the trips to B-Spot in Crocker Park or to Grandpa's Cheese Barn with my teammates as well as all of the game nights/movie nights with my housemates. I am sad that my time with my friends got cut short, but I am extremely grateful for the people I met at Oberlin who I have become so close with and have even led me to travel to so many new places. Favorite Class My favorite class at Oberlin was Modern Chinese Cinema. I really enjoyed this class because the movies we watched were all really great and also Professor Deppman is amazing and she facilitated really good discussions. After this class, I really wanted to take more cinema studies classes, but I unfortunately I wasn't able to. Favorite Place My favorite space at Oberlin is the Science Library, more specifically the Science Library when North Quad is covered in snow. When it snows during the day, the lighting in the science library is so naturally bright with the sun reflecting off the snow into the tall windows and it's really calming to me. Memorable Oberlin Moment My most memorable Oberlin moment is actually a group of moments right before we left campus where my friends got together and reflected on our time at Oberlin and all of the memories we've made. This time really made me think about all the amazing people I have met and how much Oberlin has meant to me. Future Plans After graduation I plan to spend time with my family before starting a PhD program in chemistry at UPenn in the Fall.
