About Me
My name is Eder I. Aguilar aka Yung Eder aka Hot Sauce. I use the pronouns he/him and I am proudly from the city of Chicago. I am a first-generation college student, a Posse scholar and a Mellon Mays fellow. Im majoring in Comparative American Studies with minors in Sociology and History. I conducted research on Latinx students at Oberlin College for two years, so look for my honors thesis More Than a Degree: Latinidad, Belonging, and Expression at Oberlin College in the library. I played a lot of pick-up and intramural basketball during my time at Oberlin and that is where my nickname Hot Sauce comes from. A fun fact about me is that I am missing a tooth because of a failed root canal. Lastly, I am a Taurus sun, Virgo moon, and a Libra rising. This bio is chaotic but so was my time at Oberlin.

Favorite Class
My favorite class was Latinos/Latinos in Comparative Perspectives taught by Dr. Gina Pez. It was the first class I took that put my experiences at the center. In addition, it was the first class I had with Dr. Gina Pez who would become my advisor and mentor. This was the class that put me on the path of becoming an academic.
